Give The Gift Of Life.
I visited the Delta Bloodbank the other day and took along my video camera to document just how easy and simple the process of donating blood is. Every pint that you donate can be used to save 3 lives, so please check out the video, and consider signing up to donate as soon as possible. Many area hospitals are in need, and your gift will help someone here in the valley survive an operation they might not have pulled through. Your blood means life to more than just you!
Invest in your health!
With our current fiscal downturn becoming one of epic proportions, many things need to be done for free, or at a reduced cost. That goes for issues regarding health as well. Many public health agencies require volunteers to generously give their time in order to function under a seriously increased workload. One day, we may require the services of these agencies, so consider it an investment in your future if you will!

Invest in your community's health!
One of the great ways to invest in your community from a health perspective, is very simple. Donate Blood. Many times during the year, local hospitals run dangerously low on the most rare blood types. luckily, the folks at Delta Blood bank work tirelessly to get out in the community and find people willing to donate the most precious of gifts. Luckily, you can find them here! You can give several times per year, and Delta Blood bank is usually holding a local blood drive somewhere in Modesto, so its convenient too!
Another way to make sure Modesto is getting healthier is to volunteer with community service agencies like the United Way of Stanislaus County, or The Stanislaus County Red Cross. The United Way deals with many different types of health issues. it helps so many different people, it's almost hard to fathom what a wonderful agency this is.
With the many tragedies going on around the globe, The Red Cross is universally recognized as a first-responder humanitarian organization. If there is a community dealing with tragedy, you will be sure to see the red Cross nearby, helping somone who desperately needs it.
Along with agencies that serve our communty, we need to be a resource for those that might need help. For that reason, we have included links to Stanislaus County health Services, as well as the department of Health Care Services. These Agencies provide basic health services for those who need it. These days, the numbers of people who require basic health services, even those with jobs, is increasing in number.
Please let us know if you have any agencies you would like to see on our link list at right, as we want to provide the best information possible. Our health depends on it!
